weekend report

friday: da vinci code with cookie buddy (vip style, thanks to google!)… then broomball at night.  broomball is all fun and games until dune decides to whack you in the shin w/ her stick!  that bitch!    (jk… it was an accident.  at least i hope it was!)  i was going to take a picture of the monstrous bruise on my leg (good bait for sympathy comments!), but i figured i would spare you all the sight of my flabby, pale, unshaven leg (you’re welcome). 

saturday: pottery painting w/ alda, jennie, and my bff… which was a fun activity for a lazy saturday afternoon… but not so good for impatient people who like instant gratification (like me!).  you have to wait a week for them to glaze and fire your piece before you can pick it up.  hopefully mine turns out well!  (*fingers crossed*)

then at night i went to asiasf  for sophia’s birthday.  happy quarter century, sophia! 

i must say, it is super depressing that these “gender illusionists” have way hotter bodies and way better hair than me.  maybe if i have a sex change into a man and then have a sex change back into a woman i can be as hot as these “girls.”  haha.

hahahahahaha.  i love it.  it’s just like sophie’s 21st bday at road’s all over again. 

sunday: bay to breakers w/ resa and alice.  this isn’t really my type of thing (i never dress up… not even for halloween, plus i never get up before noon on sundays)…  but it makes me really happy to know that it exists!  some of the costumes/floats were super creative, plus i like the fact that i live in an area where public nakedness and public drunkeness are encouraged. 

my legs were sore after bay to breakers (yes, from just walking… shut up), but that didn’t keep me from going salsa dancing at night.  it’s weird, b/c i get tired after walking or jogging, like, 10 feet, but i could dance for hours non-stop. 

a’s vs mariners

yesterday i went to my first ever baseball game.  can you believe it?!  4 years in boston and not a single trip to fenway (i know, i know.  shame on me).  anyways.  baseball is super fun b/c you get to be drunk in the middle of the afternoon, and you’re encouraged to yell out random things (let’s go sharks!) at any time.  thanks to tuyen (“that” girl… jk!) for forcing me out.  good times, always, with this one. 

i’m the favorite!

in efforts to retain my status as my mom’s favorite, i went home this past weekend for mother’s day.  i love my mom!  she’s the greatest!    i want her to be my maid of honor (at my non-existant wedding… although i doubt she’ll throw a very good bachelorette party!)  =P

ungrounded!

as of 5pm on saturday, i am finally ungrounded (thank god) and my best girl friends took me out for a weekend of non-stop celebrating.  =)

saturday:
dinner at totoro’s, followed by chocolate truffles, wine, and an america’s next top model marathon at bephe’s, followed by boozin’ and bootyshake at blue chalk, followed by girl talk late into the night.

sunday:
brunch at hobbee’s, outlet shopping, karaoke revolution, dinner at pluto’s, and salsa dancing at buddha lounge.

big thanks to bff, bephe, and resa… not only for a great weekend, but also for always being there for me, and for being such supportive friends.  you girls are the best!

what other company would send us out in the middle of the day to spend the afternoon roller skating?!?!  and who but google would encourage going out in public in outfits such as these?

what a fun outing!    it totally reminded me of all the roller skating birthday parties i went to when i was little.  and i guess all those parties paid off, b/c yours truly won the award for “best skating style.”  ooooooooo.  =D  

the “skate champ” ribbon and the certificate are pretty sweet, but not as sweet as the $75 tiffany’s gift card that came w/ them!  did i mention that i <3 google?!?

although her official celebration isn’t until saturday, girls night in at angela’s house let us get a head start on wishing our girl a very happy birthday!

marble magnet monday

yesterday angela organized a girls night in arts and crafts event at her house.  so fun!  i got to unleash the martha stewart in me by making these: http://quidnunc.org/marbles.html 

basically you just cut out interesting pictures/patterns from magazines and glue them to a magnet.  then you put a marble on top to magnify the image.  it was really easy, and they turned out pretty well, if i do say so myself.  martha stewart’s got nothing on me.

lesson learned from last night’s party… vip is the only way to roll, baby!    our vip status at element lounge let us and all our friends by-pass the long ass line and skip out on paying cover. we got to chill and dance in our own private room which came complete with a dedicated bouncer and cocktail waitress! 

it was soooooo great to see so many familiar faces and to meet so many new ones (which was the whole point, after all)!  thanks to everyone who made it out, and especially big thanks to my beautiful, sexy co-hosts, resa and phebe.  you girls are the funnest!  let’s plan another event sometime soon!   

weekend report

saturday: annie organized a trip to see the monster trucks, and the kentucky girl in me could not resist!    it was fun, but not quite everything i had hoped for.  i was expecting an endless sea of mullets and wife beaters, but the percent white trash of the audience was relatively low.  it was also freaking cold!  so ching, frannie, and i bailed out early and went for mexican food instead.

afterwards we met up with the group again for bootyshaking at suite 181.  the line was way too long and inside was way too crowded… but there were a ton of familiar faces there (happy birthday annie and pelly!) and the music was good.  a fun night over all.
